Staffordshire Patchworkers and Quilters

Thursday 1 September, the first meeting of our autumn programme, saw Staffs Ps and Qs enjoying a fascinating, fast-paced presentation of awesome quilts from Ferret.   Ferret is internationally known for her innovative and technically accomplished quilting and it was a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the background and see her work at close quarters - thoroughly recommended!  We are now planning an “outing” to Quiltfest in Llangollen next February so that we can meet up with her and cause havoc at her working gallery there – details of this trip will be available later.  Many of us will be following her quilting adventures via her blog Ferret Fabricates.

The first ever Chairman’s Challenge has been issued with a deadline of the December meeting – things could get interesting.  The exclusive introductory packets were all taken but if you would like to join in you can get the rules and information from the Chairman's Challenge page.

Our next meeting at Walton Community Centre is Thursday 6 October when our speaker is Dawn Cameron-Dick with her “One Woman Quilt Show”.  Dawn is teaching 2 workshops, Friday 7 October at Caverswall (class full) and Saturday 8 October at Swynnerton Village Hall (some places still available)  Contact Angie for details.

Bookings have now opened for Julia Sylvester’s November workshop, also at Swynnerton Village Hall.  This is a hugely popular fixture on the SPQ workshop list each year – further information from our Programme Secretary
